Service Description

Sight Word Play & Practice is a calm, 30-minute small-group literacy class designed to help early readers build sight word fluency through gentle, game-based practice. Each session introduces 3–5 high-frequency sight words and reinforces them through structured play, guided repetition, and simple interactive reading activities. This class is intentionally capped at 5 students to create a quiet, predictable environment where sensitive or easily overwhelmed learners can participate comfortably. Students engage in a rotating set of low-pressure activities such as Sight Word Bingo, virtual reading games, and short recall exercises that support memory, recognition, and the ability to read sight words in context. Instruction focuses on core early literacy skills including visual word recognition, reading fluency, and comprehension of simple text. The structure remains consistent each week, while the sight words change across pre-primer, primer, and first-grade word lists. This predictable format supports routine, confidence, and mastery for quiet learners who benefit from repeated exposure and focused practice. Families receive a brief summary of the words introduced each session along with a simple at-home activity to reinforce learning. Sight Word Play & Practice works well as an occasional drop-in, a biweekly routine, or a supplement to more focused literacy support. Ideal for Kindergarten through 3rd grade learners, homeschool families, private and charter school students seeking consistent early literacy reinforcement in a calm and supportive small-group setting.
