Service Description

The Individual Learning Tutoring Package is the first step for all new students. This assessment-based package helps identify your child’s current strengths, readiness skills, and learning needs in Early Literacy or Math Foundations. Through a combination of intake discussion, observation sessions, and a final review, families receive a complete Individualized Learning Plan that guides next steps for tutoring and skill development. This package includes one short parent intake session, three observation sessions with your child, and one progress review session. Each part of the process is structured to give families clear insight into how their child learns, where support is needed, and which instructional strategies are most effective. Observations are gentle, developmentally aligned, and completed virtually in a supportive environment ideal for young learners and quiet learners. What’s Included • Early Learning Readiness Review • Three 30-minute Observation Sessions focused on literacy or math skills • Early Learning Progress Review • Individualized Learning Plan tailored to Early Literacy or Math Foundations • Recommendations for tutoring frequency, focus areas, and skill-building activities Assessment Focus: Early Literacy Early Literacy observations may explore: • Letter recognition • Letter–sound correspondence • Phonological & phonemic awareness • Decodable reading skills • High-frequency word recognition • Reading comprehension (retell, sequence, story elements) • Writing readiness (grip, formation, spacing, invented spelling) • Vocabulary and expressive language • Listening comprehension Your child’s literacy learning plan highlights strengths, areas for support, and targeted next steps. Assessment Focus: Math Foundations Math observations may explore: • Number recognition and counting • Comparing quantities and number order • Addition, subtraction, and simple problem solving • Place value readiness • Patterning and early reasoning • Math vocabulary and conceptual understanding • Using visuals (ten frames, number bonds, cubes) Your child’s math learning plan outlines areas of confidence and recommended skill-building focus. Outcome At the completion of this package, families receive an Individualized Learning Plan that clearly communicates your child’s readiness level, skill needs, and recommended next steps. This plan serves as the foundation for ongoing support through the Skill Builder Tutoring Package.
